I have played water polo for many years and have seen many games. But, none of them can compare to my favorite one yet, which went into double overtime. I know what it’s like to play a water polo game that has gone into double overtime, and win it. It was the last game I would be playing before for the season would end. The weather was nice with a cool breeze, which felt nice in the fall’s sunlight. Both teams were ready to go all-out on our final game. I was pumped and had plenty of energy, which I was going to need later on. The Varsity team went first. The Varsity was playing hard and fast. The Varsity teams were really close to being evenly matched. The start of the third quarter was tiring and frustrating for both the team and the people on the side. The Foothill Varsity team was falling behind because of all the swimming and disappointment they were facing, which lead to their defeat. Next up was the JV teams. I was the sprinter for the JV team and got the ball most of the game. The JV teams were neck and neck the whole game. This lead into the last quarter when the other team was one point ahead, until the other team let their guard down and we scored a point. This lead into overtime, I still had plenty of energy because of the excitement of the game, Which would help win the game. The score was moving up and both teams weren’t willing to give up. Then it happen the buzzer sounded again we didn’t know what to do, because none of us had ever been in double overtime before. Our couch made us line up again and get ready to sprint. On the last minute of the overtime, Dail (one of the older players) and I were sprinting down the field. When I got the ball I look to see if there was an open player. When I saw Dail, I immediately passed the ball to him and he made the game winning goal. Everyone on the pool deck was very excited and happy that we could win a game like that for our final game of the season. In conclusion I had a great time that day and would very much like to play a game like that again. I have seen and experienced many games, but none of them will compare to that day.
